Two New Water Wells Dug in Afghanistan

In an effort to improve the quality of life for the people of Afghanistan, Life for Relief and Development recently inaugurated two new water wells in rural areas of the Afghan capital, Kabul.
Residents of these areas live in extreme poverty and either they do not have access to clean drinking water, or they cannot afford bottled water.
These two wells, each outfitted with mechanical pumps, are providing instance access to fresh water for hundreds of Afghans.
On the day of their inauguration, locals gathered at the wells to get a glimpse of the pumps in action. There was great joy and excitement when the first drops of water first trickled—and then gushed—out of the pump faucets.
The wells, which were dug to a depth of 32 meters (105 feet), are expected to provide sustained levels of water for neighborhood
