On Thursday May 20th, 2010 Life’s headquarters staff attended a workshop on the “New IRS Guidelines for Charities” that was facilitated by Michael Kaszubski, an Internal Control Specialist from Alpha Inc. This outside consulting firm has been working with Life for the past 2 years to help optimize Life’s operations both at the headquarters and at the field offices, as well as ensure that adequate Internal Control Procedures are in place throughout the organization.
The workshop focused on how to best implement change within an organization and how to involve the employees in the changes. The facilitator also touched on employee personality types and how their personalities make an impact on how an organization moves forward. At the end of the presentation, there was a question and answer period that prompted several comments and questions from the staff members about how staff will input what was learned into action on a daily basis at Life. This was the first of several workshops that Alpha Inc. will present to Life staff members.
