Iraqi Teachers Receive Service Awards

On June 16, 2010, the Iraq office of Life for Relief and Development, along with its partner the Al Rafd Charitable Society, held an awards ceremony for a group of teachers and staff from the Islamic University in Baghdad.

Some 40 education professionals received service awards in recognition of their commitment to providing a quality education to the students of the university’s teaching college.

Recipients received certificates of recognition as well as gifts such as watches, purses, and copies of the Holy Qur’an.

The dean of the teaching college expressed great appreciation for the gesture made towards his professors and administrative staff members, and he stated his hope that the service awards ceremony will become an annual event at his school.
