Delegation of Iraqi Doctors Receive Training in Turkey

Photo Album>>
This past June, Life for Relief and Development, along with the British-based Human Relief Foundation, cosponsored a three-day training workshop for two dozen Iraqi doctors.
The workshop was held in Istanbul, Turkey, where a team of British doctors from Edinburgh University updated their Iraqi counterparts on the latest developments in surgical procedures.
Nearly two decades of conflict in Iraq have had a very destructive impact on the country’s healthcare system. Keeping up with medical advances and technology has been difficult for most doctors and hospitals.
The training of Iraqi doctors is an important step towards improving the quality of the healthcare system in Iraq, which in its heyday was the most advanced in the Arab World.
