Life Sierra Leone Distributes Thousands of Books to Universities, Colleges and Schools

Life Sierra Leone received thousands of books from McGraw-Hill and Pearson Publishing in the USA through Life’s partnership with Brother’s Brother Foundation. The books and educational materials that Life received were valued at over $2.5 million.
Delivering his keynote address during a books distribution ceremony held at the organization’s headquarters in Freetown the Honorable Minister of Social Welfare Gender and Children’s Affairs Mr. Steven Ngaujah commended Life for Relief and Development for their contribution in ensuring that goods received from donors are fairly distributed to the country at large. He disclosed that he is very impressed as the beneficiaries cut across a wide range of schools, institutions, religious beliefs and does not in any shape or form discrimination against any one.
The Honorable Minister ended his statement by reiterating that education is the key to national development and pledged his ministry’s support at all times as they have seen the reality on the ground. He appealed to the recipients to make good use of the valuable materials distributed by Life for Relief and Development.
The books were distributed to over 300 primary and secondary schools as well as to Universities, colleges, tech schools, preparatory schools and libraries throughout the country. The recipients of the books were very happy to receive the new books and look forward to receiving books in the future.
