Human Development Life’s Human Development Program centers on the goal to help the poor and needy gain self-respect, become self-sufficient, and realize their potential and ability. Life actively works on accomplishing its human development goals by allowing individuals of developing countries to acquire marketable skills to help ensure their economic independence. Life’s projects in this area include developing and running workshops on women’s empowerment, political equality, computer literacy training, sewing, tailoring and how to run a small business.      More Projects

Life Sends Books to Schools and Colleges in Need in Central America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia Life and Another Joy Foundation in partnership with Brother's Brother Foundation sent books and educational materials donated by Pearson and McGraw-Hill Publisher's valued at over $12.5 million to needy schools in Guatemala, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Libya, Lebanon, Palestine, Pakistan and the Philippines. Life Improves the Livelihood of Families in Ethiopia and Eritrean Refugees in Southern Sudan Life provided funding to improve the livelihood of families in Ethiopia and Eritrean Refugees in Sudan. Through this small‐scale dairy animal keeping project families were given either a pair of dairy goats or a dairy cow. The animals will help sustain families and provide income‐generating opportunities for their owners. Life Jordan: Field Trips for Orphans, Classes for Widows During the recent spring school recess, Life Jordan arranged a special field trips for many of their sponsored orphans in the cities of Zarqa and Irbid. Palestinian Refugees in Syria Get Assistance Life completed a project to assist families from Palestinian refugee camps. Some 150 refugee families living in camps on the outskirts of Damascus received food baskets. Life Sponsors H1N1 Seminar for Schoolgirls in Baghdad Due to this pandemic, Life for Relief and Development's Iraq office, in association with Al-Rafd Charity, organized an H1N1 awareness seminar for schoolgirls living in Baghdad. Life Constructs New Village for Homeless in Bangladesh Life for Relief and Development came up with a plan to construct a brand new village for storm survivors in the Bagherhat District of Bangladesh. The project was funded by the UAE-based Al Rahma Charity, which has worked with Life in the past to implement a number of humanitarian projects around the world. Eight New Wells Dug in Rural Ethiopia LIFE has commissioned the digging of eight water wells in the center of the country. The wells are spread out across the Woreda area of the Bale Zone. Youth Centers for Eritrean Refugee Camps The youth centers each have been equipped with televisions, satellite dishes, digital receivers, generators, and educational videos and DVDs. LIFE Partners to Provide Medical Supplies, Clothing & Humanitarian Aid to Hospitals & Civilians in Somalia Life in partnership with four other U.S.-based charities, provided three major shipments of medical supplies, clothing, educational books and other humanitarian supplies with a value of over six million dollars to hospitals, clinics, schools, and needy civilians in Somalia.
