Dr. Abdulwahab Asamarai Board Chairman*
Dr. Asamarai has served as a board member in Life for Relief and Development since it's establishment in 1992. He holds the following degrees: D.V.M., M.Sc., Ph.D. and M.D. His degree as a Medical Doctor was inspired by his commitment to helping the needy. He hopes to continue to see Life extending the hand to all suffering people around the world.
 
Mohamed Idris Board Vice Chairman*
Mohamed Idris maintains an Associates Degree in Pharmaceutical Science, a B.S. in Business Administration, and an M.A. in Management. His past achievements include a position as the Executive Director of the American Relief Agency for the Horn of Africa (ARAHA) in Minneapolis, MN, as well as serving as the Senior Pharmacy Technician at the Hennepin County Medical Center.
 
Abdallah Boumediene Interim CEO of LIFE

Abdallah Boumediene is a graduate of Wayne State University in the field of healthcare. He has over 30 years of experience in clinics operations, finance, and management. He has worked at large healthcare institutions such as Henry Ford Health System and Community Based Organizations such as Arab Community Center for Economic and Social Services (ACCESS). He has also been on several Boards including the State of Michigan Committee on Refugees Resettlement, Michigan State Advisory Board on Recipients Rights, Board of Directors of the Greater Detroit Area Health Council (GDAHC), Interfaith Committee on Workers Issues, and Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan (CIOM).

 
Michael J. Salloum Board Secretary and Treasurer*
Mr. Salloum holds a M.S. in Mechanical Engineering. Held several technical and managerial leadership positions. Currently serves as a Board Member of the Muslim Community Association of Ann Arbor (MCA). Served as President of the MCA (2004-2005), V.P. and Board Member of the Michigan Islamic Academy (MIA) (1997-1999), Secretary of the MCA E.C. (1995-1996).
 
Dr. Sharif Gindy Board Member*
Dr. Gindy has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and has worked over 30 years in Research and Development in the area of Dynamic Measurement Technology. He also serves as a member of the Board of several other non-profit and community organizations.
 
Dawud Walid Board Member*
Dawud Walid is currently the Executive Director of the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MI), a chapter of America’s largest advocacy and civil liberties organization for Muslims. Walid has spoken at over twenty institutions of higher learning about Islam and interfaith dialogue including DePaul University, Harvard University and the University of the Virgin Islands. He has also presented on prominent panel discussions with international leaders and academics such as a panel discussion on African-American and American Muslim relations at the 2008 Congressional Black Caucus Convention with the Reverend Jesse Jackson to the 2009 and 2010 Malian Peace and Tolerance Conferences held in Bamako, Mali, which were attended by religious scholars from twelve different countries. Walid also served in the United States Navy under honorable conditions earning two United States Navy and Marine Corp Achievement medals as well as having received awards of recognition from both the Hamtramck and Detroit City Councils and from the Mayor of Lansing.
