Life for Relief and Development (LIFE) is honored to facilitate this tradition by providing fresh, high-quality meat to families facing hardship around the world. During 2024 and 2023 Udhiyah/Qurbani, LIFE fed nearly 450,000 people worldwide. Help us to reach even more people this year. Spotlight Project: Delivering 500,000 Portions of Fresh Canned Meat to Gaza
Support Families and Individuals in Gaza During Udhiyah/Qurbani 2025 and All Year Round
In Gaza, where over 1.95 million people are facing food insecurity, your support is lifesaving. Last year, LIFE aided over 50,000 families in Gaza with the delivery of fresh canned Udhiyah/Qurbani meat. This year, join us in reaching 500,000 families. Our distributions in this region provide essential resources, combat extreme hunger, and enable people in Gaza to celebrate Eid with decency.
Since it is difficult to sacrifice meat within Gaza, LIFE will send the Udhiyah/Qurbani meat to Gaza as processed meat. As LIFE did during the days of Eid with the Udhiyah/Qurbani in 2024, all animals will be sourced, cut, and canned outside Gaza to ensure the meat stays fresh and safe. The canned meat will then be shipped to and distributed within Gaza.
Canned meat, with its long shelf life and easy transportability, is a reliable food source in Gaza, where electricity is often unstable and transport times at the border can be lengthy. By sourcing and preserving meat outside Gaza, we ensure families receive nutritious meals without the risk of spoilage.
Incredibly, the Udhiyah/Qurbani meat shipped last year is still being used today. Udhiyah/Qurbani 2024 has provided meat for families in Gaza all year round and this has played an instrumental role in LIFE being able to continue to serve hot meals with meat to families in Gaza despite the recent border closures.
Giving your Udhiyah/Qurbani donations in advance will give LIFE the most time to prepare as many cans of fresh meat as possible. Any surplus of Udhiyah/Qurbani donations will increase the amount of fresh canned meat we are able to send. This will allow LIFE to help more people for a longer period of time.
