Beginning on April 9th, 2020, Life for Relief and Development distributed food baskets to local needy families and refugees in the Detroit Metropolitan area, Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti and Toledo. Over a four-day period, Life was able to distribute over 1,200 food baskets of: rice, cooking oil, sugar, macaroni, tomato paste, ghee, flour, lentils, salt, tea and dates. Each basket feeds a family of five, allowing over 6,000 people to have food on their tables. The distribution was door-to-door, and thanks to the local mosques, Life was able to locate the families in need of the food baskets.
