The humanitarian situation in Gaza remains extremely critical, with widespread displacement, damaged infrastructure, and limited humanitarian access leaving families struggling to meet their most basic needs. Ongoing conflict has severely disrupted food supplies and water systems, forcing many families to rely on unsafe water sources and irregular meals. Children, elderly individuals, and displaced families living in overcrowded shelters are among the most vulnerable, facing heightened risks of hunger, dehydration, and illness.
These conditions continue to intensify as shortages of food, fuel, and clean water continued to affect daily survival. Many families were unable to cook, store food, or access potable water, increasing their dependence on emergency humanitarian assistance. Without timely intervention, the risk of malnutrition and waterborne disease remained high across displacement sites.
In response, Life for Relief and Development, between 24 September and 2 October 2025, implemented an emergency relief intervention during this period to provide immediate life-saving support. The response focused on delivering prepared hot meals and safe drinking water to displaced families living in shelters and temporary accommodations across Gaza. Aid delivery began without delay to ensure families received support during a period of acute need.
As part of this intervention, large communal food pots provided freshly cooked meals to displaced families, ensuring access to warm, nutritious food at a time when cooking facilities and food supplies were severely limited. In addition, water tankers delivered 60,000 liters of clean drinking water to support essential needs such as drinking, cooking, and basic hygiene. This water was sourced from solar-powered filtration units, which have been critical in Gaza, continuing to function even during electricity shutdowns and ensuring a reliable supply of safe water.
The impact of this support was immediate and meaningful. Families were able to eat regular meals, reduce the stress of searching for food and water, and remain within their shelters rather than taking risks to meet basic needs. Access to clean water also helped reduce health risks in crowded living conditions and supported overall community stability.
This emergency response was made possible through the generosity and compassion of LIFE’s donors. Their support enabled the timely delivery of food and water to families when it mattered most. Life for Relief and Development extends its sincere gratitude to all who stood with the people of Gaza and helped bring relief, dignity, and hope during this critical period.
