The humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip has resulted in widespread destruction of residential neighborhoods, forcing thousands of families into displacement sites and overcrowded shelters. In southern Gaza alone, entire communities were left without adequate housing, with families living in open areas or fragile makeshift tents.

To address this urgent need, from Sept. 30th-Oct. 30th, 2025, Life for Relief and Development funded the distribution of 150 emergency tents (4×6 meters) and 2,000 reinforced tent covers across Deir Al-Balah, Khan Younis, and Al-Maghazi. The intervention directly benefited approximately 8,050 individuals, including displaced families, female-headed households, elderly individuals, and persons with disabilities.

Families without any shelter received full emergency tents, while others received tent covers to reinforce and insulate damaged or inadequate structures, significantly improving weather resistance and privacy.

The project dramatically improved safety and dignity for the displaced. Families reported reduced exposure to rain and cold, better protection for children, and improved overall stability within displacement camps.

Huda, a 41-year-old mother of four, explained: “Having a tent meant safety. My children finally slept without fear.” By providing immediate shelter solutions in an extremely volatile environment, LIFE helped restore a sense of security and protection to thousands navigating crisis conditions.
